Software Engineer Intern, 50001

Job Summary

The successful candidate will perform tasks related to the development of new information systems and technologies. The candidate will contribute to software architecture, development, testing tasks, and will be required to document and present their work as needed. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively in team environments and/or independently under the direct supervision of a Project Principal Investigator/ Engineer or under the direction of other technical team members.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-4 years education or experience in computer science, engineering or applied math fields.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to communicate with accuracy to supervisors and project leads
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Outlooks, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to communicate regularly with supervisor regarding all ongoing tasks and to ensure that their needs are understood and met in a timely and fully satisfactory manner.


Preferred qualification

  • Experience with objects oriented programming languages (Java, Python, Linux, Storm, H-Base, C++, .NET, XML and related standards, SQL, relational database design, A+, MATLAB)
  • Experience with statistical analysis methods and software
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies as needed
  • Knowledge of parallel computing systems
  • Experience with Linux-based systems
