Job Summary

Candidate would be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and calibration of high frequency, high resolution data acquisition systems employed in wind tunnel testing. The systems will be used to measure pressure, heating, and friction associated with high speed flow over test models. Candidate would also support test team in the operation, maintenance, an enhancement of wind tunnel primary power and control systems. Would include opportunities to design and construct specialized circuits to be employed in data acquisition.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Wind Tunnel testing in the areas of data acquisition and operations
  • Design and trouble-shoot digital and analog circuits related to wind tunnel operation and data acquisition

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Formal education in electronics and electronic-related fields (Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technologist, Electrical Technology, and related fields)
  • Candidate must have a basic understanding of electrical concepts associated with the performance of instrumentation used to measure temperature and pressure
  • Strong computer skills and related electronics experience
  • Familiarity with test equipment, signal generators, power supplies, multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Ability to read and work with schematics
  • Must possess soldering skills associated with the construction of circuits
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to meet eligibility requirements to obtain a government security clearance
  • Candidate must be prepared to occasionally work extended hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with electronics, instrumentation and data collection
  • Ability to design circuitry to achieve changing test objectives
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Salary Range

  • $35,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience and education.
